Toro Strides (NZ) trots to G3 victory.

Toro Stride (NZ) (Love You) left his rivals in his wake in a dazzling display to win the A$30,000 Group Three Yamamoto Trotters Mile (1609m) at Menangle on Saturday night.

The NZB Standardbred graduate never gave his opposition a look in when powering to an emphatic victory for trainers Joe and Mary Rando and driver Will Rixon.

Purchased by by Peter Lagan Standardbreds for $280,000 on behalf of owners Emilio and Mary Rosati at the 2020 National Yearling Sale in Christchurch when he was offered among the Barron Bloodstock draft.

After successfully competing in age group races in Victoria, Toro Stride shifted north to Sydney where he has been a strong performer for the Rando stable.

The trotter showed brilliant gate speed to lead early in Saturday night’s Yamamoto Trotters Mile.

The son of Love You was knocked down for $280,000.

Rixon kept up a strong tempo with the five-year-old which proved too testing for their rivals.

The chestnut cleared out for a big win in the Group Three feature, scoring by more than 12m at the line.

The blueblood trotter scored in a career best time of 1.55.7.

The Group Three victory added to the incredible record of Toro Stride’s dam Queen Kenny (NZ) (Monarchy).

Toro Stride is a full brother to the outstanding trotting mare and multiple Group One winner Queen Elida (NZ) (Love You).

Toro Stride was one of four New Zealand-breds to win at Menangle on Saturday night.
